Are you saying that the software is not calculating your 2026 estimated tax payments or that you cannot locate that section of the software?  Please clarify.

When you prepare your 2025 return, TurboTax will automatically calculate your 2026 estimated tax payments and prepare 1040-ES vouchers if the software thinks that you may be at risk for an underpayment penalty next year.

To calculate and view next year's estimated taxes on TurboTax Online, follow these steps:

  1. Down the left side of the screen, click on Federal.
  2. Down the left side of the screen, click on Other tax situations.
  3. Click the down arrow to the right of Other tax forms.
  4. Click to the right of For W-4 and estimated taxes.

I have a similar problem. I have gone to the section you specified. I have no W-2s, it's al self-employment income.

There is an option to "Copy current year Schedule C information to next year".

I choose "Yes" and Continue.

Absoltuely nothing is copied, and it wants me to manually enter every piece of info.

It seems a bug. My notes from last year indicate it worked then.

After I filed, I noticed that Turbotax did not calculate my estimated tax payments or make vouchers to apply for 2026. This is a fail since I cannot seem to go back since my return for 2025 has already been accepted.

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.

This will take you back to the 2025 online tax return.

To create Form 1040-ES -

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home & Business)

Click on Other Tax Situations

Under Other Tax Forms

On W-4 and estimated taxes, click on the start butto

In general, if you want TurboTax to prepare quarterly estimates and vouchers, go to the Estimated Taxes section in Other Tax Forms under Other Tax Situations. You can still do this after you filed, if your return has already been accepted. If using TurboTax Online, follow these steps:

  1. Reopen Return: Log into TurboTax. If already filed, select "Add a State" to unlock the return, but do not actually add a new state.
  2. Locate Section: Go to the Federal tab, then Other Tax Situations.
  3. Find Estimates: Look for Other Tax Forms and select Start/Update next to "Form W-4 and Estimated Taxes".
  4. Navigate Interview: Say "No" to changing W-4 withholdings to jump directly to the estimated taxes section.
  5. Generate Forms: Follow the prompts to enter expected income. When asked, opt to print the vouchers.

At the first screen, Adjust How Much Tax You Pay, choose Estimates rather than W-4 as a basis for the estimate. You can also choose not to let the program use your 2025 wages as a basis to estimate tax for 2026, and enter in the amounts of income you project to receive and deductions you expect to claim. TurboTax will prepare vouchers, but does not automatically print them until you are ready to file.

You can also choose to make payments directly on the IRS website.
