If you are having issues e-filing, you can use the link provided below for assistance. If that still does not help you, I would suggest reaching out to TurboTax directly for help:

E-filing Problems

This isn't really an answer to the question.  There seems to be a hangup for a form W4-T that is preventing an e-file.  For me, I was also getting the same message for W4-S.  Upon searching the internet, I found that W4-S is for setting up withholdings from sick pay.  I can't seem to find any reference to a W4-T outside of the error described and this post.

Since W4 is supposed to be for setting up withholdings and should not be needed to file a return, I am just going to delete this form under the tools section.  Would be interested in seeing a proper response to this question though.

Several community members have stated deleting the W-4 forms has worked for them and they no longer received the "Form W-4 T: Total Allowances must be entered." message.

  • Delete the W-4 Forms (via Forms->Remove W-4 - twice for the two forms).
  • You will also need to remove the W4-Info/Worksheet form and W4 ES worksheet.
  • Basically visit any form for each error that has a W4 on it and remove it.

  • Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
  • In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
  • In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose to Delete a form.
  • Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.

I also had this problem; found I was able to proceed by checking the box at the top of the W4 to create a completely blank form.
