We adopted our son in 2017. He was adopted from Foster Care (and noted as special needs) but we do not get a subsidy. How do I confirm I am eligible for adoption credit?

Hi @TurboTaxKarenP - thank you for responding. That is where I got stuck. Our Foster Son is Special Needs but we do not receive a monthly subsidy. Do you know how we'd verify that he actually qualifies? It accepts his info in Turbo Tax but beyond being adopted in 2017 through foster care and being classified as special needs - what else will the IRS check?

Please see the IRS link below.  Scroll down near the bottom, there's a section that addresses special needs.
