Turbotax Typo on Arizona tax Worksheet Form causing rejection of tax submission

My 2025 Arizona tax submission was rejected. The problem, according to the email from Turbotax is:

"641-140 Arizona  Schedule A, Line 7A does not equal line 5A subtracted from line 6A:; FRM-Error has occurred on the Arizona Adjustment to State Income Taxes Schedule."

I reviewed Turbotax's Arizona Schedule A worksheet on page 2, and noticed that the amount on Turbotax's Line 4A Limit from federal Schedule A "Enter $40,000 ($20,000 if married filing separate)" is different from the amount on the same worksheet that I downloaded from the Arizona Department of Taxation website. "Enter $10,000 ($5,000 if married filing separate)"

As a result, on Line 4A of this worksheet Turbotax is erroneously filling in $40,000 instead of $10,000, causing the calculation (and my tax submission) to be rejected.

Please review this and fix it so that I can re-file my Arizona state taxes.

Can you give us the URL for the Arizona Schedule A worksheet that you downloaded?  The Worksheet that I downloaded from Arizona (if we are looking at the same one) had "$40,000", not "Enter $10,000".

Also, please tell us the amounts you have on lines 5A, 6A, and 7A on your Arizona Schedule A - the rejection message says that the subtraction is wrong.

Turbotax Typo on Arizona tax Worksheet Form causing rejection of tax submission

Hi BillM, and thanks for your reply.

First of all, I was indeed wrong about the numbers on the form I downloaded from Arizona website. The 2025 Schedule A worksheets from Arizona and Turbotax both agree, $40,000; $20,000 for married filing separate. (I had a lot of files open that day trying to find the problem and I must have been looking at the 2024 AZ Schedule A.  I apologize for that mistake on my part.)

That leaves us with the rejection due to subtraction error, which I can't explain by looking at my Schedule A worksheet. I'm uncomfortable posting my exact figures to a public forum, but here's the gist:

4A is $40,000

5A is an amount less than $40,000 but larger than $10,000

6A is $10,000

7A (5A subtracted from 6A) would then be a negative number. The number filled in on 7A is $0, which was entered on AZ Schedule A, line 7 as zero as well.

That calculation looks right to me, so I don't know what I can change to fix the 'subtraction error'.

I hope this helps; if you need more specific information from my tax forms I would prefer to discuss it privately. Please advise as to what I should do next.

Thanks!
