Turbotax says my employer withheld too much SS tax, but Turbotax is wrong!

1)  Double-check what is actually on the software W-2 form for boxes 3&4

2)  You did only enter one W-2 for yourself?

3)  Are you married and spouse works for the same employer ?

So my spouse does work at the same company.  So is Turbotax wrong in that case.

No...Turbotax is not wrong

BUT

IF you both work at the same employer.....an SS over-payment in the boxes 4 total can result if you "accidentally" assigned both W-2 forms to only one spouse.

Go back to the W-2 area and go in and make sure each W-2 is assigned to the correct spouse.
