If TurboTax keeps telling you that you need to review your estimated tax payments, you can go back to your estimated tax entry screens in TurboTax and review them again. Try deleting them and re-entering them as this may also clear the suggestion by TurboTax to review your numbers.

To do this, you can use the following steps.

For TurboTax Online and Mobile

  1. Continue your return
  2. Go to the Estimated Tax Payments section
  3. For TurboTax Online/Mobile: Go to estimated tax payments
  4. Review your TurboTax entries for accuracy

For TurboTax Desktop

  1. Continue your return.
  2. Go to the to the estimated tax payments section
  3. Click on the "Deductions & Credits" tab
  4. Scroll down to "Estimates and Other Taxes Paid" Click on" Start"
  5. Review your TurboTax entries for accuracy

Also, try logging out of your program and logging back in and clear your cache and cookies. Click here for How do I delete cookies? Click here for How to clear your cache.

If you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can switch to "Forms" mode (by clicking on Forms at the top right of your TurboTax screen), and scroll down your forms in the left panel of your TurboTax screen to find the "1040 Wks" or "Estimated Tax" worksheets, and verify that the data has populated correctly.

You can delete and re-enter the payment if the form appears to be incorrect.

If everything appears to be correct, ignore the "needs review" message and proceed with filing. This message doesn't usually stop you form e-filing.

Why if your software flags an estimated amount wouldn't it be designed to highlight on the form with the explanation mark the field where the software identified the amount.  Poor software design and QA.

I’m having the same problem was JKWEST on March 16 - 5 days later.  I followed your recommendations but the “Needs review” message persists.  There seems to be a bug in the software.  Nevertheless, I will ignore the error and proceed.
