TurboTax is incorrectly computing my refund and won't let me override the amount.

TurboTax correctly computes the tax due and the amount of my payments. It shows $1,786 as the amount overpaid, but will only let me get a refund (or apply to 2022) $1,750. I can't override the amount. I can use white out and file my return manually, but that's a pain.

Is there a $36 estimated tax penalty on Form 1040 line 38? If so, that's what is reducing your refund. The computation is correct.

No. And there's no penalty due.

That gave me an idea. I had paid the final estimate in 2021, but when I changed the date entered in TurboTax to 1/15/2022, the problem was fixed. Though it never showed a penalty due, even with the old date????

I take it back. It did show a penalty, I just never looked that far down, since I knew there wasn't any. All is fixed now by using a 1/15/22 date on the Tax Payments form.
