I'm 70 years old. I've used Turbo Tax "forever". I have always tried to stay ahead of taking the standard deduction by itemizing. Non-cash item donations have always been a big part of that...and It's Deductible has been key in helping me keep track of and value those donations. When I heard Intuit was AGAIN trying to get rid of It's Deductible, especially at such an odd time...October 21, 2025...I started scrambling for alternatives. II did find one that I really like. It's Deductible Duck at DeductibleDuck.com. It's a lot like It's Deductible. In fact once I downloaded my It's Deductible data, I was able to seamlessly import it into Deductible Duck... simply just by sliding my It's Deductible zip files into the import area. And adding new donations is a snap. If you know how to use It's Deductible, you know how to use Deductible Duck. My hope now is that, if Turbo Tax stays the course and truly discontinues It's Deductible, that it will at least provide 3rd party programs like Deductible Duck with an open API to allow their users' data to be seamlessly uploaded to Turbo Tax as it does with It's Deductible data today. I really don't want to go back to manually entered this info like the old days...and I really don't want to switch to another tax preparation software that has this functionality already built into it...but who knows. I'll just need to wait and see.
I have been a user of TurboTax over 25 years but if they discontinue its deductible I will probably choose another program. I am even willing to pay a few bucks more for an its deductible add on.

Here you go, @bcarlson57 :
I just started using Deductible Duck. Excellent program for entering non-cash items.
The question that everybody seems to be avoiding, how do any of the replacement solutions for ItsDeductible get the data INTO TurboTax (or replacement tax preparation product)? Is there ANY similar import into Schedule A and the worksheets?
Did you look over the Deductible Duck web site? It says:
"Track every donation you make, whether it’s stock, mileage, money or items. Export your data for safekeeping or use by a CPA. Easily transfer the results to TurboTax. Just as reliable as ItsDeductible online"
If you have any more specific questions, you can always contact them:
Good question. It seems like Intuit should provide 3rd party providers with an API they can use to seamlessly upload their data to Turbo Tax. They should also provide users who don't use a 3rd party program, but keep track of this info themselves in a spreadsheet (Excel, Google Sheets, etc.) with a format they can use to upload their data. Hopefully Intuit will realize just how much pain they are causing their users and have enough empathy to try to help us out.
I did see this, but TurboTax only talks about imports for itemized deductions from ItsDeductible. Thus, it leaves a question in my mind if import from CSV is possible. AI replies:
charitable donations.
Charitable Donations: If you track your donations using ItsDeductible Online and use the same account for TurboTax Deluxe or higher, you can import your charitable contribution data directly. This feature is not available in TurboTax Free Edition or TurboTax Live Basic, as these versions do not support Schedule A.
Other Itemized Deductions: While TurboTax is designed to guide you through entering information for various itemized deductions like mortgage interest, state and local taxes, and medical expenses, it does not typically offer direct import functionality for these categories from external sources or financial institutions. You will generally need to manually input the data for these types of deductions into the program.
Wow! I'm just reading all of this, and I'm so very disappointed. I've used TurboTax for over 20 years! This tool is invaluable to me when I'm working on taxes, and I can't even imagine why they would think it was a good decision to discontinue it. If they don't reconsider, then I will have to find another software such as H&R Block because they provide a tool that will do what I need. I'm just surprised that they're making such a change! I'm just shaking my head.

My understanding is that they just provide the "tool" in the software for the current tax year and not for the following tax year.
For example, the 2024 products cannot be used to enter donations made in 2025 to be imported into one of the 2025 products.
Right. I understand. I use It's Deductible every year and have for a long time. It's disappointing that they feel they need to discontinue it.

If you're willing to pay a small fee (many are, apparently), there is a (sort-of) replacement product available from a third-party vendor.
I personally am starting to loose faith with Intuit. I mean, they are shutting down ItsDeductable and they can't even send a mail message that doesn't have errors (and it's not my connection as I earned a badge after reading 20 posts and it too had the same missing image error.) The good thing is that other software packages can load in a TurboTax file, as long as it's saved in the unencrypted form. Now to just decide on which one.

That shouldn't be overly burdensome as you only have to figure out whether you want to use H&R Block or TaxAct. There really are not a whole lot of choices with respect to consumer-level, installed income tax preparation software.
