Turbotax is asking for AMT information from Form 6251, line 35. Where is this information? I cannot find a line 35 on my 2016 returns.

You can look at Line 45 of your 2016 Form 1040. 

If there is nothing reported on that line, enter a zero to answer the review question.

Once you enter the amount from Line 45 of the 2016 1040, Turbotax then asks for information from several additional lines of the 2016 Form 6251, and some of those lines are not present, either.  Where are we to find this information?

Did you print just the forms from your 2016 return or did you by any chance also print the worksheets?

I downloaded and saved the entire 2016 return, both form and worksheets.

Look for an AMT worksheet - it should have all the information you need.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the “Alternative Minimum Tax Worksheet” is what I’m looking at. It includes some lines but skips others entirely—for example, it includes Lines 1 and 3 but not 2.  There are numerous lines omitted throughout the worksheet.

Assuming the omitted lines are missing because they were irrelevant to my situation, would I just fill in zero for the amounts corresponding to missing lines?

Yes, you could also try deleting the Form 6251 and/or any related worksheets.
To delete a Form you need to follow the steps below:
• Log into your tax return and continue it.
• Click on Tax Tools in the left column
• Click on Tools
• Click on Delete a Form
• Click Delete beside the Form you want to delete.
• You will be asked to confirm you want to delete the form.
