TurboTax indicates "Needs Review" even after confirming

I reviewed all the forms in Investments and Savings, and confirmed they are correct. It still shows Needs Review for the Investments and Savings group. Some of the data were imported directly from the broker's website, while I uploaded the 1099-DIV and INT PDFs for the rest. There are more than 15 forms in this section. It will be too much repeat work to delete all of them and add the forms all over again. Will TurboTax let me complete everything and file?

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:

  • Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu.
  • Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website.
  • Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms.
  • Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit."
  • Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.

Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

TurboTax indicates "Needs Review" even after confirming

I started sessions in incognito mode in different browsers, cleared cache and cookies, but the Needs Review did not go away. Next, I deleted all the investment and savings entries and closed the incognito browser. I restarted another browser in incognito mode and logged in to Turbo Tax but the Needs Review came back. I logged out and started a new session in another browser in incognito mode, but the Needs Review still shows.

Interestingly, it shows one brokerage's name under Needs Review, even after the entries of which I deleted. I do remember that when I first pulled in this brokerage's data, and completed the initial review, the "needs review" did not show at that point. Also, the capital loss carryover amount for 2025 is still displaying while at the same time it shows "Not started" next to it even after I deleted all the investment and savings entries.

Is some corrupt data stuck in the server? What do I do? Is there a way to start the 2025 tax filing afresh? I used Turbo Tax last year, too, but did not encounter these issues.

I did not receive a solution for my question even after speaking and chatting with TT experts. I had to clear my tax return from TT and start afresh. I ended up wasting several hours of time spent preparing my tax return to start over. The reputation of TT being the best software no longer rings true to me.
