TurboTax Deluxe for 2017, does it contain Schedule D and its supporting worksheets? Also, does it contain Forms 5695, 6251, 8801 and 8960?

The jacket for TurboTax Deluxe 2017 (not 2016) is not specific about the forms and schedules listed above.  I do not want to buy the wrong version and have to take it back.

Go to the TurboTax website for the desktop CD/Download editions - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/

Scroll down under the Deluxe edition and click on View Forms.  All the forms and schedules available for the edition will be listed.

I feel this answer is no longer accurate.  The View Forms button goes to the same page regardless of version.

What are you trying to do?  All of the forms are included with any version of the desktop software.

Well...since the specific Forms available with the Desktop versions are all the same (except for 2014 desktop)...then of course the forms list is the same.  Its now just the "Online" software that have different forms for each version.

I am a little confused.  I'm switching from the online version to download/cd.  I guess all the forms might be included with download/cd, but I don't think I can use them all with every version.  I was trying to see which version I needed to buy to have access to form 5695 when filing my taxes.  I think it's a little disingenuous to say "they're all there" but if you needed to do something that required a higher form (ex 8881) and you bought Basic I'm guessing you'd still be out of luck in terms of using that form, even if it was "included".
I was looking for something more like this: <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://www.staples.com/sbd/img/rebates/pdfs/ttcompchartwforms.pdf">https://www.staples.com/sbd/img/...>
Is there a better place/way to go from, "I know I need to include form X on my taxes this year." to a list of which version supports using that form?

Supposedly BASIC supports every form too...but none of us bother to use it as it does not contain a free state download.  That and the help it provides the user is pretty minimal.  Some folks living in non-income-taxing states will use it though if they don't have complex tax returns to file.

Deluxe is offered with or without a free state, so you have to be careful to buy the right one.   Premier and H&B only come with one free state download   (e-filing the state still costs $20-$25).   All of those definitely have the 5695.  (I'm sure Basic does too, I just don't know  how much direction it gives for your entries)

And be careful to buy only from known providers (TurboTax, Amazon, Best Buy, Staples....etc)   A whole bunch of shady websites have been popping up this year with pirated software that might contain malware/keyloggers/viruses.

YES!  That’s right. You found one of the features and advantages of the Desktop program.
All the Desktop versions have the same forms so you can use a lower version.  You just get more help in the higher versions.

And the Desktop program can do unlimited returns and efile 5 Federal for free.
You can see and enter directly into the actual forms.
There is a What-If worksheet.
Basic does not include a free state program and has some other limitations like doesn’t import from It’s Deductible.

Deluxe and above include one free state program download to prepare returns for the same state.  Then each state return is 19.99 to efile (goes up to 24.99 later). Or you can print and mail state for free. If you need to also file a state return for a different state it is 39.99 to buy an additional state program.

You can transfer from 2017 online into the Desktop program.  Transfer from Online into the Windows Desktop program.   Expand the 3rd blue link

One way is to start a 2018 Online return and transfer into that.  Then you can download the .tax2018 file from online and just OPEN it in the Desktop program.
