Turbotax keeps crashing for me after I installed the update yesterday. Crashes trying to open
the help center popup, crashes when opening the payment browser window, crashes when saving IRA deductions info. I've done all the troubleshooting steps - checked for TT updates, cleared browser cache and cookies, updated windows, turn off windows defender antivirus, restarted windows. Nothing is fixing the issue. I can't file the state return because I first have to complete the payment window, which is crashing. To confirm it wasn't data in my return, I opened TT and immediately tried to open the help center (without opening a tax return) and it also crashes. Ugh.

If you are on a Windows computer...check for any waiting OS updates from Windows. IF only partially installed those can cause TTX problems.
Reboot your computer...even if you don't find any.
If on a MAC...reboot too.

Still a no go?
For Windows computers, try downloading and installing the Manual Update. This update takes longer than normal to install...so be really patient. A couple pop-up windows will be presented for you to Allow/Accept as it proceeds.
Manually Update TurboTax for Windows Software
I am on windows. All windows updates are done and up to date. I have rebooted several times. I've cleared cache and cookies in MS Edge each time also. Still crashes. Open Turbotax, click Help, TurboTax Help Center, it opens a popup browser window for a split second, window is blank, then crashes and restarts Turbotax again. Same thing happens when it tries to open popup windows. Was working fine until last update.
After trying all other suggestions, I uninstalled and reinstalled TurboTax and then it worked fine!
As mentioned in my last post, un-installing and re-installing Turbo Tax fixed the crashing issue. But unfortunately, Turbo Tax now thinks I've hit my 5 return limit when I actually only sent 2 returns electronically. It seems like when it crashed, it still counted against my limit, ugh. I have one more return I need to file and while of course I can print and mail it, I want to e-file it as per my 5 return limit. Reading all the other posts sounds like it is unlikely to get help from TurboTax to fix the 5 return issue but I'll keep looking and try to reach support.
