Turbotax Business + NY State goes into loop after pressing transmit

Turbotax Business +NY State trying to submit trust return, goes into a repetitive loop after pressing transmit.

It just keeps looping back to "we need to make one more check". There are no errors displayed, but every time you get to the transmit button and try to submit, it loops back to the check.

This is the downloaded program version, not the browser, so not a cookie issue.

Any suggestions?

I have this issue with NJ State, and the solution link is dead.

This can happen when the software marks a check as cleared, but the filing module spots a small difference and needs to run the "Review" step again. Since you’re using the desktop version, you can ignore any browser cache steps and focus on what’s happening inside the software.

Sometimes the temporary "ready to file" files get corrupted. Try this sequence:

  1. Save a backup of your tax file (.tax2025 or similar) under a different name (e.g., TrustReturn_v2).
  2. Delete the State Return (only within the program): Go to the "Federal Taxes" (or "Federal Review") section first. Then, look for a way to "Remove State."
  3. Re-add the State: This forces the software to pull fresh data from your Federal entries and often clears the hidden "flag" causing the loop.

Since it's March, there may be a specific NY form update that didn't trigger automatically.

  1. Go to the Online menu at the top.
  2. Select Check for Updates.
  3. If it says you are up to date, try the "Repair" function: Close TurboTax, go to your Computer's Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program > TurboTax > Repair.

Sometimes the software needs a "finalized" state to move forward.

Try going to File > Print and select "Print for Filing." * Save it as a PDF. Occasionally, the act of generating the final filing forms "locks" the data in a way that allows the Transmit button to finally register the "Check" as complete.
