Turbotax, asked me to pay $24 for a second state (CT). Then I was billed $47.85. When finished my taxes, TurboTax stopped me and asked for payment of $24. Why?

If you're using desktop software (CD/download), the fee to efile a state return is 24.99 (no fee for New York state and no fee to print and mail a state return.)

The cost of a second state software program is 44.99 plus sales tax where applicable.

Did you efile state returns for 2 states?  If so, that would be 24.99 for each, plus possible sales tax.

You must be using the Downloaded program where one state program is included and extra state programs are $44.99 + tax   then to efile each state return there is a $24 fee which can be avoided by printing and mailing the return .... read those screens again.
