TurboTax Advantage with the Republican tax code changes in the works, not even planned until the end of the year?? how is this going to effect the turbotax 2018 program?

Nobody knows because the revisions to the tax code aren't law yet, and maybe never will be.

Most of the proposed revisions will not take effect until 2018 or later ... only things that will probably effect 2017  it will be tax law extensions if any are passed.

The 2018 program is used for 2018 tax returns that are filed in early 2019.

At the present time, the changes are not expected to be retroactive.  Any changes that do apply to 2017 taxes will be added to the program updates.  (The CD version that is released in November is not ready to file.  The program requires periodic updates to the forms.  It will generally alert you when an update is needed.)  You always want to go to the update menu and "check for updates" before you file.

Any changes that apply to 2018 will be part of the program that is released in November 2018 for the April 15, 2019 deadline.
