Turbo tax will not allow my son to ez file since he is claimed on his parents taxes (based on ss#). He is not independent. This is his first time to ever file.

My son made less than $2000 for 2018. He tried to ez file his taxes & it would not let him due to his ss# showing he is being claimed by the parents. How do we get it to file online?

If your son had tax withheld from his pay and is seeking a refund, he needs to say on his own return that he can be claimed as a dependent on someone else's tax return. If his e-file is rejected, then the return can be printed, signed and mailed.
