My spouse and I did not receive a 3rd stimulus check and we are pretty sure we're not entitled to it. However, TurboTax says we are entitled to $2,800. There is no way to remove it from form 1040.
Should we file form 1040 as is? Or try to remove this information?
Thanks!!

Why are you pretty sure you are not eligible to receive the recovery rebate credit? Did you receive it already last year? If someone else claimed you as a dependent last year and got it, they do not have to pay it back, but you can still get it yourself thanks to a loophole left by Congress when they wrote the law.
Did you receive letter 6475? If so, you have to enter that information in the recovery rebate credit section in Federal Review.
We are sure because we are not US citizens or green card holders. We never received letter 6475
Then wait a second....if you are non-resident aliens you should not even be using TurboTax. If you need to file a Form 1040NR you need to use a different program.
I tried to use Sprintax.
This is the information they have provided me: "Based on the information you provided, you are deemed a US resident for tax purposes, which means Sprintax software isn’t suitable for you. Sprintax facilitates non-resident tax return preparation only."
This is so confusing.
What type of visa do you have and how long have you been in the US? Did you have social security numbers or ITINs?
Resident aliens do qualify for the Recovery Rebate Credit.
Generally, if you were a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien in 2021, you were not a dependent of another taxpayer, and you either have a valid SSN or claim a dependent who has a valid SSN or ATIN, you are eligible to claim the 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit.
You may also be eligible if you file a joint return with your spouse, you or your spouse were a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien in 2021, and either you, your spouse, or both of you, have a valid SSN or you claim a dependent who has a valid SSN or ATIN.
