I filed my taxes on 01/26/20 and the IRS accepted it on 01/27/20. At this time I had chosen the option of the Turbo Tax Prepaid Visa Card and my refund loan amount was deposited on 01/28/20.
However, the card issued was made available online with the information such as card number, expiration date and CVS#. When I attempted to make online purchases along with paying bills the card is declined.
When I called in to report the error, I was told the card information issued online are not correct and a new card will be issued to me in 7-10 business days. When I receive the original card to throw it away that it was now voided. The new card will be issued to be 02/07/20. This is more than week from the original card being issued.
So, now I have one card on the way that is now voided and another one in the mail. I'm not scheduled to receive this "new card" until 02/07/20. When you call Green Dot to get updated information because it seems everyone who choose this option is having issues, we are all told we need to obtain a new card. Which will be expedited and Fed Ex in 3 business days.
At this point I was better off choosing the direct deposit option. I'm really hoping that if there are any "hidden fees" these are to be voided.
FYI IF YOU ARE READING THIS DO NOT CHOOSE THE REFUND LOAN OPTION!!! THE INFORMATION GIVEN ABOUT HAVING ACCESS TO FUNDS WITHIN ONE HOUR AND YOU CAN USE FUNDS WHILE WAITING FOR THE NEW CARD ARE NOT VALID!!!!!!
