Hello, during the tax year 2023 I was given a tax credit for owning a clean hybrid vehicle. I found out that turbo tax failed to ask me a very important question during the process on the app. This credit was only for commercial vehicles. On the tax form it is not highlighted yes or no for that question. This means that turbo tax never asked me that question and now the irs is after over $3,400 from me. What should I do?

Hello i did submit a claim and they are only trying to pay $400 but this bill is 100% turbo tax’s fault so why should I be responsible for the $3,040? I would be fine paying the interest which is the $400 but they are trying to get me to pay for the full amount.
You always owe the extra tax. TurboTax only pays any penalty and interest. What is the 100% Accurate Calculation Guarantee

I understand but I would not owe that amount if turbo tax’s did not mess up. Is there something else that can be done since turbo tax failed to ask me the question that would have kept me from owing this money.
