What is the error?  What input in which section of the program?  What tax year?  Using TurboTax online or one of the desktop editions?

The software is not working...Entering casualty losses and will not change to itemized although advises the system has selected Itemized. Still, standard ded used

Are you working on a 2018 return?  Casualty losses are no longer deductible on your federal return unless you are in a federal disaster area.
