Turbo Tax efile charge Discrepancy

Why does the summary page of Turbotax efiling show an efile charge of $20 for a MN return, but when I make the payment it is $25?

The cost for e-filing a state tax return in the Desktop platform increased from $20 to $25 effective March 1.

Maybe your summary page populated before today?  At any rate, the fee has increased now.  The price increases every year around the first of March.  So sorry.

There will be a delay in Desktop program between March 1 when the price goes up and the next time the program update comes out, usually on Thursdays.  It will show the $20 efile price but you be charged 25.

If you want to avoid the state e-file fee, you can print, sign and mail the state return for the cost of an envelope and a stamp.
