Turbo tax doesn’t inform if you owe taxes from last year

If you owe back taxes to the IRS or a state TurboTax does not inform you.

TurboTax does not know whether you paid your tax due from the past year. TT is just a software program. It cannot see if you put a check or money order in an envelope and took it to a mailbox, or if you went to the IRS site and paid with a credit card. And TT would not know if your check was bad, or if your credit payment was declined. Your only proof of paying your tax is your own bank/credit card record.
