Turbo tax does not recognize the document number on my driver's license

I receive an error message saying that the document number's first 3 characters must be entered (and I have entered them)

You didn't say which state???  But I'm guessing it's NY?

FIRST...make sure you are using the right number

...depending on the license type...check the following pictures provided by NY:

AND, it is not the DMV ID number

BUT BEYIOND THAT !!!!

Some folks are saying it works if you enter ONLY the first three Alphabetic or Numeric characters....no more than that.
