TT Premier is not permitting me to upload form 1099s that are already available at my registered broker

Although you might be able to view or print your information from the website, most banks, brokerages and other financial institutions do not have the data formatted for import into tax software before sometime in February.  So if you are wanting to enter it sooner, you have to key it in by hand.   Or….wait until it is available for import.

If you want to enter it manually, click the option that says “I’ll type it in myself”

Gracias for the speedy response.  I understand what you are writing.  But, if I follow the procedures used in recent years, the system should ask if my broker is a member of the contributing party, and then I select same.  It should take me to the broker's site, where if there are 1099s to be uploaded, I would select same and execute.

If I go to Topic List and select capital gains. I get taken to a page that wants me to review last year's 1099-DIVs.  It appears that the updating system is not in place at all.  As it turns out, I do have a few 2025 Form 1099s on file with a broker.  Others will probably arrive later, but the TT system doesn't have to know whether there are forms in place or not.  It simply needs to be in place to get me to the broker.

Of course, the system may be in place, but perhaps how it is accessed may have changed from last year and before?

Thank you , Madame.

In the past under Topic List, if you clicked on Capital Gains, Stock Sales, etc.  you would be taken directly to selecting the financial partner to be taken to a broker's site.   I found by scrolling down past a myriad of update options that one comes to a small box that. says "Add an Investment," or something like that.  This does the trick and takes you directly to the list of participating partners.  If I were TT, I would move that option up the list of options.

Thanks again.

I found the problem.. TT does not permit a Mac user to launch the program from the Desktop, if one is going to use the auto loading feature for 1099s.  The error message gives the name of the program and its location in Application.  This is an incorrect message.  If I delete the program from the Desktop and launch from Applications, it works fine.  I can launch from the Desktop, and the program works well if I do not use the auto feature.  This problem does not exist, if I use my wife's Windows platform.  Go figure.  The coding for the Mac needs to be updated.
