TT is asking to 'Look for and connect to any device on your local network'

After a successful import of my financial information from my bank, MS Edge pops this dialogue box. What is this about !?

TT is asking to 'Look for and connect to any device on your local network'

New this year...

If you don't "Allow" in that pop-up, Then nothing is actually transferred into your tax software.......even though the other screen says Successful...it really isn't... unless you Allow.

(But this is a 1-day old post...so maybe you've already figured that out)

That is weird I never saw this pop up.  I will have a larger file to download soon, hopefully I will get this message.

I don't know if it is just for the Desktop software, or both Desktop and Online software.

I spent two hours trying to transfer my data and each time it would say it's successful What a waste of time, I saw this pop up TurboTax wants to connect to any device I said "no" it seemed like a security issue I don't want it to connect to "any device" I did not know I would have such consequences. How are we supposed to know from that your data won't transfer now I've got to figure out how remove my "no" responce because it seems to remember it.

If you received a "Success" message but your data hasn't appeared in TurboTax, it is likely due to recent browser security updates regarding Local Network Access.

To fix this you need to allow TurboTax to securely retrieve your data through your browser settings:

  1. Locate the View Site Information icon (the "tune" or "lock" icon) on the far left of your address bar, just before the URL.
  2. Find Local Network Access in the dropdown menu.
  3. Toggle the switch to ON.
  4. Refresh the page and attempt your import again.

If permissions aren't the issue, one of the following factors may be at play:

  • Brokerage Delays: While most forms arrive by January 31, many brokerages delay Consolidated 1099s (like the 1099-B) until mid-February due to complex reporting requirements.
  • Availability: Your brokerage must specifically "release" the import file to TurboTax. If it isn’t ready, we recommend checking back.
  • Connection Blocks: Active VPNs or aggressive Anti-Virus software can occasionally block the import feature between your bank and TurboTax. Try disabling them temporarily or switching to a different browser.

I let a few hours pass and attempted import again, this time the pop-up finally reappeared after saying Success, I picked allow and the data appeared in the TT desktop app. I did not attemp to adjust the setting in Chrome as suggested by CatinaT1.

That pop up message is so cryptic "Look for and connect to any device on your local network" sounds like a virus trying to infect my network. Couldn't TT say "Allow TT to transfer documents"

That is browser language, not Intuit language.
