I just entered two rental properties and they are both showing on Sch E which means you may have a piece of data stuck. Follow these steps:

Online version:

  1. Delete the form/ worksheet, see How to Delete
  2. Log out of your return and try one or more of the following:
    • Don't use Internet Explorer.
    • Clear cache and cookies,
    • Sign in using a different browser.
    • Sign in using a different device.
  3. Log back into your return.
    • Enter the information again.

Desktop version:

  1. Delete the form/ worksheet
  2. Save your return while closing the program.
  3. Update the program - you may need to several times
  4. Open
  5. Enter the information again.

Thanks for the response. Yes it does work for rentals. I missed mentioning in my question that one of the properties was for royalties only. I looked back as far as 2020 TY when I had two rentals. Both rentals were carried over, but the royalty description was not.  So, it's not a new problem.

Royalty property would normally transfer as well. It's difficult to know exactly why something doesn't transfer on occasion. You should always review your data from year to year so nothing is missed. Enter your Royalty property information and grab your prior depletion if applicable.
