You will need to complete a Form 2210 and annualize your income.
Click on Federal
Click on Other Tax Situations
Under Additional Tax Payments
On Underpayment penalties, click on the start button
TurboTax will ask if you'd rather let the IRS calculate the penalty. You can choose that option and the penalty won't be added to your return. However, if TurboTax is calculating the penalty, the program has determined that you either haven't made the minimum payment or your payments were made by the due date. If all of your payments were made through withholding, you may need to report your withholding when it was due instead of equally throughout the year.
If you'd like, we can look at your return and see exactly why TurboTax is generating an underpayment penalty. The return will be scrubbed and won't include any of your personal details.
If you're using TurboTax Online:
Once you're logged in to your account,
- on the left hand panel, click on Tax Tools and then choose Tools
- on the pop up window, select Share my file with Agent
- you'll see a message saying you'll give us a copy of your tax return. Your personal information will be changed so we can't see any private information.
- click okay and you'll get another message with a token
If you're using TurboTax Desktop:
Please reply to this message with your token so that we can further assist you. Let us know all other states, if any, that are included on the return.
