As i have read, other have been experiencing this issue as well.
I have a child who was born in 2025 listed as what should be a qualifying dependent to receive the $1,000.00 seed money and establish the account ( TurboTax even acknowledges this when dependent information is entered and stated you will be prompted "later on" ) . After all information is entered, and nearing completion, I go to the "File" section in step 2 ( as read on other threads ), I am not being prompted with anything pertaining to IRS form 4547. No one as customer support has helped thus far via 2 phone calls.
Please help!

Have you gotten past entering direct deposit information? If you have a child that qualifies, you will initially see it mentioned after TurboTax says the child qualifies as a dependent, in a blue box. The information for the form is not entered until you are actually filing your return. You will be asked about this after you have entered direct deposit information. This is because it is not actually part of your return.
The Trump Account program doesn't officially begin until July 2026.
This TurboTax article will provide additional information.
I do see the blue box indicating a qualifying dependent, as referenced. I have entered all direct deposit information and reached the final tax submission page without any further mention of IRS Form 4547 or the Trump Account reference.
I am hesitant to click the final “File” button, as it appears to be the final action and not reversible. If you are certain the system will prompt for or request additional information regarding this matter after submission, I am willing to proceed; however, I would appreciate a clearer understanding of when and where this information is expected to be provided.
The notice indicates this will be addressed later (as referenced by the blue box), and other threads suggest it appears in the “File” section, Step 2, but I have not encountered either.
I would expect TurboTax to have a standardized and clearly defined process for this, but so far that has not been the case.
The article you shared provides helpful background on the account, but it does not explain when or where the account information should be entered within the tax filing workflow.
Any additional clarification or guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
You should have seen it before this point. For me it comes up right after entering direct deposit information. You don't need to file this form with your tax return. The program isn't even starting until summer so I wouldn't hold up your tax return if you can't find this. You will be able to sign up through an online portal that will be available by summer 2026. You can watch TrumpAccounts.gov for the latest information.
I have a child that was born January 2026. IRS says I can efile form 4547 regardless if I claim child as dependent on 2025 tax return since they still meet requirements. Will turbo tax let me do that? I know some other tax return websites says they are only allowing form 4547 for claimed dependents at this time
Yes, you'll be prompted to fill out Form 4547 for any eligible child born between Jan 1, 2025, and Dec 31, 2028, to qualify for the $1,000 contribution. They don't have to be a dependent on your return.
You can manage your account at the Trump Accounts site, starting in July 2026.
I went to the dependent wks form and manually entered information for two children to get the form 4547 to populate in the return forms list. However. I have a third child and cannot get the second form to populate. Maddening! Has anyone overcome this problem?
I don't know of a fix that'll resolve this in the short term, but there's an alternative.
There's a website under construction that you can go to:
You can request updates from this site.
It's not a form you fill out. It will be a question at the filing process. It will ask you if you want set it up and gives a yes/no selection. It tells you what will happen and when. If for whatever reason you decide you don't want the account to be set up, it still gives you the information. And let's also talk about the other elephant in the room. Selecting this will not reduce your refund, and it is not money you can access. it is a fund set up for the child and the child only.
If you haven't gotten it to work yet, I just figured it out! I had to go review my direct deposit information, then it re-prompted. Good luck!
Below are the instructions for adding the Trump Account-Form 4547 to your tax return. First, you must have a qualifying dependent or go directly to the site provided by @JohnB5677 above and posted here for your convenience.
Thanks. My Daughter efiled hers and gave me the scoop. Turbo tax should have informed their users!
Thanks for this, looking for a solution everywhere.
