Transferring license to new PC

I will be getting a new PC in the next few weeks. Can I purchase TurboTax desktop now and use on my current PC and then install on my new PC when it is in place? Will the data files just be access from the desktop?  Also, I have been using TurboTax for years. Will I be able to transfer older licenses to the new PC? I would like to have 2023 and 2022, but especially last year. Thanks,

The .tax files that contain your tax data are saved on the original PC and do not automatically transfer unless you do a complete back up and restore.
