Transferring a TurboTax return from Home/Business to the Professional version

I worked through my 2025 taxes, but want my CPA to review and file for me. I sent him the 1040 Return.tax2025 file, but he cannot open it. Does Intuit not see the value in allowing customers to deal easily with their professional?

@RickDanger , if your return was prepared using Windows desktop Home & Business, you can send the .tax file to your tax professional.  I am assuming he/she  has Intuit Tax Prof. software like  Lacerte.  Most professional software do allow for  input of   TurboTax .tax files.

Else you print out the full return  ( all worksheets and forms, calculations etc. ) documents and  let him/her go through that.

Individual tax returns from TurboTax desktop or TurboTax for Mac can be directly transferred to ProSeries Professional or ProSeries Basic for the same tax year.
