Hello -
The total donations presented on the 2025 Deductions & Credits page is different than the sum of the charitable donations that I made. I did not have donation carry-over nor did I claim non-cash donations. The difference is $280. Why is this?
Thank you.

1) Some states have check-off donations in their tax forms.
Thus, if your 2024 State tax return had a refund, and you designated to have some of it retained by the state, to go to some state charities/funds....then those $$ from last year might be included in the total.
...or...maybe..
2) When I was working, I had some of my paycheck go to the local United Way. I seem to recall (but could be mistaken) that the way it was noted in my W-2 forms, that my donation amount was automatically added to the charity section.
Do you have a K-1 that reports charitable contributions?
No K-1 and no other charitable contributions.
No K-1 contributions. What do I do to address the difference?

Thank you. This helped me figure out the reason for the difference. There was a charitable contribution on my spouse's W-4 I forgot about.
Thank you. This was helpful.
