This is supposed to be free so why am I being charged almost 200.00?

Each version of the TurboTax software has specific forms available in it. We cannot see your return, but you can view the forms available by product in the link below:

TurboTax Forms Available by Product

If you inadvertently upgraded while preparing your return, you can go back to the original version of the software by clearing your return and starting over before you pay and file.

To choose this option:

1. Click Tax Tools
2. Click Clear & Start Over
3. Confirm

While this will require you to redo the return in its entirety, it will also delete any and all forms associated with the return. Be sure you are starting in the Free Edition and only upgrade if necessary to complete your return.

TurboTax Free Edition is for filers that use a simple 1040 with no additional schedules and is free as long as you don't select any add-ons or upgrades. If you don't know or understand what you are being charged for you can Review your fees to see a breakdown.
