If your cash income comes from services or work you are performing for others, then the IRS would say you were self-employed in a business of selling your services to others. you would file as a Self-Employed person and fill out a Schedule C for your business income and any related expenses. You would have to pay what is called Self-Empioyment tax on any profit after expenses. That's Social Security and Medicare taxes. You may also have some regular income tax owed. You might want to try this Free version instead of the much more expensive Self-Employed version of TurboTax.
