if you filed jointly in 2024, the AGI for both of you comes from line 11 of that year's return. It does not matter who earned the income. The IRS requires it for security reasons for e-filed 1040 returns.
What did you try on your first attempt that got rejected? If 2024 was a joint return, and if you already tried using the same total 2024 AGI for both of you, please report back, and we can tell you what to do on the second attempt.
. But if you do have to report back, please include the rejection error code/message.
Your AGI is not on your W-2. Your husband's 2024 AGI is on Form 1040 line 11 of the 2024 tax return that he filed. It doesn't matter whether he had a W-2 or not. If you and he filed jointly for 2024, his AGI is line 11 on your joint 2024 tax return, and it is the same as your 2024 AGI.
