There is only one parent listed on child's birth certificate (Me). Do I need to file a Form 8332?

I have been the only parent, and I have always claimed myself; however, this is the first year that the Form 8332 came up.

There is only one parent listed on child's birth certificate (Me). Do I need to file a Form 8332?

You would only need to complete that form if the child lived with you and you wanted to let the other parent claim the child as their dependent.
