Are the W-2s for income earned in 2017?

If the W-2s are issued for income earned in 2017, they need to go on an 2017 return.

If the W-2s are reporting income earned in 2018, but the forms themselves have 2017 printed on them, that should pose no problem. The box numbers haven't changed.
