Dear [Customer Support],
I encountered an issue with my tax filing and need your assistance. Initially, my return was rejected with error code FW2-502. I corrected the EIN, and after resubmitting, both my federal and state tax returns were accepted, as confirmed via email.
However, when I checked the E-File status, it still showed the same error code FW2-502, stating that the "EIN does not match IRS records." I double-checked the EIN, and it is the same one that was corrected and previously accepted. Seeing no issues, I attempted to retransmit the return but received the message: "The submission is a duplicate of one that was received. Please contact customer support."

This reject is due to a missmatch of the name or EIN for an employer on your W-2. For each W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, verify that Employer ID Number (EIN) and Employer Name have been entered correctly.
If you need to, contact the employer to make sure the EIN and Employer Name are correct on the W-2 they gave you. The employer may need to issue a corrected W-2 if the number is not correct. After reviewing and making any necessary changes, refile the return. If the reject continues, you will need to print this return and file by mail.
" I attempted to retransmit the return "
You can't do that.
You are looking at the first REJECTED message.
Once ACCEPTED there is nothing more to do.
