The main problem this year was i received a settlement check form a lawsuit for overtime pay. they sent 2 checks one was taxed the other was not , now i have a $4470 bil

The bill from your lawyer, if that was what you were referring to, is deductible on Schedule A, subject to a threshold of 2% of AGI. You would list it in TurboTax on the Deductions & Credits page under Other Deductions and Credits.
