The IRS informed us that they are changing our refund. We lost about 1,000 dollars. Has this happened to anyone else?

Turbo tax shows our refund at 2519. The irs site says they changed it to 1519.

this happens to anyone who files a return with errors.

IRS calls it a "miscalculation".

They'll send you a letter describing why they changed it in a few weeks (1-4?wks)...you can check that against your paper copy and see if it was an error on your part...or a mis-understanding of some kind.

GET A FULL PRINTOUT OF YOUR TAX FILE NOW..so that you have a hard copy of what you actually filed.....don't wait until later
