Why can't I e-file without the AGI?

The IRS added AGI as an e-file requirement as another step to protect you from identify theft.

Why do I have to find this out when I am done with the return and expecting to be able to e-file? No where was I told that this was required when checking needed paperwork. Very frustrating. No work around?

Intuit makes the software. It could give a notice about this long before you are finished and ready to e-file. I am looking at a list of paperwork needed provided by Intuit. This is not on it.

What list?  Where does Turbo Tax show a list?

Last year you needed to enter the prior year AGI  also, so everyone should know that.  Did you file a 2027 return?

No mention. I printed out another that did not have the complete address. If you need to pursue this avenue, I will scan the doc and upload.

It does say copies of last year's tax return.  Which is where you get the AGI.
