It would be best to double check with the manufacturer to be sure you have the correct code. Also, check to see if they did register with the IRS here. Qualified Manufacturer

If you confirmed all is correct, be sure your TurboTax software is updated with the latest information.

TurboTax Online will update automatically.

TurboTax Desktop is as follows:

  1. Sign in, select Online in the top left menu bar,
  2. Next, select Check for Updates
  3. TurboTax will update or alert you that you are already up to date

Please add additional information here if you need further assistance and we will help.

None of that works, TurboTax online will not accept the correct QMID code, numerous customers are reporting this issue in threads.

Did you ever get this resolved?  I received letter from IRS saying QMIN was missing or incomplete, but it's not. So seems like it is not a TT issue, but IRS not reading the code correctly.

Yes, the IRS is having an issue with Efile with their computers not reading QMID codes correctly containing the letter 'I' or 'O'. There is a way  you could resolve this, aside from mailing your return.  Try using a different valid code from your manufacturer, not containing I or O.  The IRS computer is not matching codes with specific equipment, only checking for valid codes.

Make sure your program is fully updated.
