Are you using TurboTax Online or the TurboTax Desktop software?
If you are using the desktop software, is it in Windows or on a Mac? First check for updates. What happens when you click "Transfer Return"? If you get an error message, what is the exact entire message?
I have the same problem. Just bought and installed TurboTax Desktop Version on my Mac. When I highlight my .tax2024 return and click "continue", I hear a soft 'beep' but the return doesn't transfer. No error message appears.
Nevermind. I closed TurboTax, re-booted my Mac, re-started TurboTax, and the transfer came through without a hitch.
Confirming the above issue + resolution from BARLECH:- That is, IMMEDIATELY after installing turbotax-desktop, it fails to TRANSFER INFORMATION from prior year's return.
Step 1: Download and Install TurboTax
Step 2. Reboot. Yes -- even for macOS Tahoe 26.2 -- you MUST reboot.
Step 3: After reboot, re-open Turbotax, and .. drumroll .. the issue is now gone!
It's frustrating that Intuit failed to have TurboTax show a popup asking to reboot - BEFORE further using the desktop-turbotax. Or .. .. this is all by design, to frustrate desktop-app users, to push everyone onto their "online" product.
