If that is the only income, then they may not have to file a tax return. Please see the faq below for who can be claimed as a dependent ( a dependent may be a qualifying child or a qualifying relative:(

The 1200.00 was from a job.  Not his disability.  Does this answer still apply?

You may claim him as long he meets all the requirements to be a qualifying child (you provided more than 50% of support) or qualifying relative ( did not make more than $4,050)
