Taxed in a state I do not work or live in

Why does the state of North Carolina taking thousands in income taxes for years i never lived or worked there? I haven’t lived there in years and I’m not working for a company stationed there either.

How do you know NC is collecting taxes from your income? Nobody in this forum can read your mind. We can only work with the information you provide.

Why are you even filing a return for that state? Do you own rental property there? Do you get a W-2 that's showing the wrong state for withholding?

I purchased Turbo Tax Deluxe Federal and State. I received the pass code, and it does not work. It tells me I have no account.
