.tax2024 not transfering in

I switched to a Win11 computer, loaded TurboTax Desk Top (only use Desk Top). Copied *.TaxData2024 into Documents Folder under TurboTax began transfer. See the TaxData2024 File 965KB, select it process begins, completes. No info (Name, Address, Filing Status etc.) appears on the screen after transfer  or in TurboTax 25. I have shut off and restarted computer Tax Data does not appear.

rather than doing Begin and selecting the .tax2024 file for transfer etc, try opening the .tax2024 directly as a return in the 2025 software which will detect prior year version and kick off the transfer process into a new return.  you may have the same issues, but worth a shot.  this has been helpful for people unable to get the transfer to work to begin with.

 did not work, TurboTax 25 Deluxe is not seeing the Taxfile, so I try browse. When I change it from Taxfile to all files it appears. But it does not load. I deleted the file in Win11 box and copied the file again from Win10 box, now I get Error: 102346.

The file you want to transfer should be labeled '.tax2024'.  You mention a file '*.taxdata2024', and this error indicates a wrong file type.

The file .tax2024 should be on your C drive.  If it's stored somewhere else, move it your desktop.

If you still get an error, look in the Documents>TurboTax folder to see if you have a backup file for .tax2024, with a tilde ~ sign in front of the file name.  If your original file was saved in a cloud-type environment, it may have been corrupted.

I have searched my PC were I prepared 2024 Taxes, I cannot find .tax2024 file. I can open the 2024 Turbo Tax Deluxe 2024 return and see all the Tax data. Can I recreate a new .tax2024 file?

Yes, if you open TurboTax 2024, it may update, but you can then save your tax file again.  If you save to your desktop, it'll be easy to point to from the 2025 'transfer file' screen.

Thank you, that did it opening 2024 return. Loaded the info into the Wim11 box desktop then opened a new return and pointed it to the desktop. Thanks again
