Where & when do you see that in the software?
ON a State form??....or on a Federal form?
IF for a state, WHICH STATE ??? ...there are more than 40 that have an income tax..
This happens occasionally. It is an IRS issue, and it can't be resolved by TurboTax. If your return is being rejected by the IRS, and they are saying it's because your son's social security number is not valid, then your only choice is to print and mail your returns.
I was doing my taxes Sunday 2/09.
I was all done and trying to e-file. It had me go through and double check everything and said there was a "problem" with my son's ssn and that it was "invalid."
It was the state tax for Michigan.
Bummer deal... soo didn't want to have to rely on snail mail.
I need it to pay my property taxes. Ugh
Thank you for the input David.
Try deleting the SS and renter it again. At times when a field is copied over it gets corrupted. See if that works.
I did that abot 4-5 times. I even wiped out all of my information and started over hoping it would work.
MAny of you need to better describe WHERE this is occurring...
IF it's in the MICHIGAN part of your tax returns...then there is nothing that you can do to fix it until the Software correction is issued.....Read This:
