Tax return rejected because of my wife's 1099 R. It says Payor EIN # is incorrect. ,but I am looking at 1099 R. It is xxxxxxxxx which is what's input. What do I do now

Tax return rejected because of my wife's 1099 R. It says Payor EIN # is incorrect. ,but I am looking at 1099 R. It is xxxxxxxxx which is what's input. What do I do now

Sorry ... but you will need to mail in the return if the IRS is not accepting the EIN.

Did you check with the issuer ... maybe the number is incorrect on the form.  But if they just got the number in Jan to file the 1099-R form then the IRS may not have them in the system yet.
