I filed an extension with free fillable form on 4/15 which shows as accepted with a submission id on myfree fillable form account. However, the extension is not showing up in my actual IRS account until 04/20. I did see my status change to "You Have an Extension to file ", but when I checked my IRS account again this morning, it changed back to "Your 2025 Tax Return Is Not Processed". It's such a starnge change in my account, did my extension get accepted or not? What can I do to confirm my extension status?

You will need to contact the IRS for information.
It probably refers to your actual 1040 rather than the extension
Thank you, I find CODE: 460, EXPLANATION OF TRANSACTION: Extension of time to file tax return,DATE: 04-17-2026 on my 2025 transcript. Does it indicate my extension request was approved?
The date 04/17/2026 is after 04/15 deadline, although I filed the extension on 04/15, does this date imapct my extension status?
If the IRS posted a Transaction Code 460 to your account, it means an Extension of Time for Filing has been recorded. It could be showing a later date based on when the transaction code was input. If a TC 460 was entered in error, they would post TC 462 to correct the error.
See this link for more information about IRS transaction codes.
Thank you. Another problem is on the Explanation column there is no ext Date 10/15 like other screenshots show. Does this matter?
This is my transcript without the Extend Date 10/15.
We aren't able to see the image that you uploaded. It may be because it has personal information on it.
Can someone help with this question?
It is fine. It shows $1 payment which extends your due date to 10/15. Paying $1 or more via debit/credit card toward estimated taxes acts as an extension, removing the need to file Form 4868, as explained on the IRS Pay taxes by debit or credit card page.
