Switching from Turbotax online to desktop (same year)

I started my 2025 taxes in TurboTax online but need to switch to desktop due to forms I need. 

I am following the instructions from here but it does not work for me

Where it does not work:

the instructions say in TurboTax desktop select "Import from TurboTax Online". I do this but the selection is only for 2024 TurboTax Online taxes, NOT the 2025 one I have started. How do I import the unfinished 2025 TurboTax online to 2025 Desktop?

When you start a new return in the Desktop program is there a Continue from Online button?  Here’s a screenshot from last year

Or you can download the data file from Online ending in .tax2025 and just open it in the Desktop program.

How do I save my TurboTax Online return as a tax data file?

IMPORTANT

After you get the program installed the first thing to do before you open your tax return .tax file is to update the program and install any state programs you had. Then open your file. So you first might need to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to FILE - NEW).  Just enter some basic personal info like your name and address then click on the State tab at the top and it should ask if you want to download the state program.

The instructions do not say to select "Import from TurboTax Online." They say "Select Continue From TurboTax Online." That's on the very first screen when you start the desktop program. Do not click "Start a New Return." Just click "Continue From TurboTax Online." See the screen shot that VolvoGirl posted. Her screen shot is from the 2024 software, but it's the same for 2025.

Oh, I’ve been missing that part.  Instead of start a new return you should go to File-Open to get to the Continue screen.
