Stuck on 1099-K and can't complete the e-filing

Hi, so I'm using TurboTax Deluxe and I filed everything, but it keeps sending me back to review one of them, that involves the 1099-K and schedule C. I sold some things on eBay but I don't consider myself a business and it was stuff I wanted to get rid of, but its asking me to double-click on Schedule C but it doesn't do anything, and I don't know what it wants me to do as I've tried everything to get out this section. I am stuck, is there a way around this?

Please follow these steps to enter the sale of your personal items:

  1. Click "Wages & Income" (under Federal) on the left
  2. Scroll down to "Other Common Income" and click "Show more"
  3. Click "Start" next to "Form 1099-K"
  4. On the "Choose which type of income your 1099-K is for" screen select "Personal Item"
  5. On the "Your 1099-K Summary" screen, select Done.
  6. "Wages & Income" screen
  7. Scroll down to "Investments and Savings" and click "Show more"
  8. Click "Start or Revisit" for "Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other (1099-B)".
  9. Click "Review" on "Personal item sales (1099-K)"
  10. Enter the information on the "Now, enter one sale…" screen

Stuck on 1099-K and can't complete the e-filing

TaxMan63,

Boy that must be frustrating!  The IRS does say that it is quite possible many taxpayers are in the same situation.  With regards the underlying tax forms, their FAQ (https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/form-1099-k-frequently-asked-questions-individuals)  gives a set of steps to follow.  First see if they can rescind the 1099-K.  If not, the thing you can do is delete the 1099-K entry in TurboTax and enter the figure as Less Common Income->Miscellaneous Income->Other Reportable Income with the explanation "Form 1099-K issued in error".  I don't know how to force the corresponding adjustment to subtract that same amount without going into Forms View.  I do not know if that is available in the online version you are using.  (I use the downloaded Desktop version.)  Anyhow, if that is an option, you can override the entry on line 24z of schedule 1 following the same instruction.

Let me know if you can get one of those options to work for you.
